Stroudsburg is a local government located in the heart of the Pocono Mountain region of northeast Pennsylvania.
The Borough boasts a bustling downtown area with a wonderful
assortment of shops and restaurants – it is THE premiere downtown area of the Poconos.

The Borough of Stroudsburg offices are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. We are located at the corner of Seventh and Sarah Streets, diagonally across from the Monroe County Courthouse. Most departments are on the second floor of the building.
At our office you may apply for various permits such as yard sale, parade, banner, building, zoning, etc. and obtain information for most other issues regarding the Borough. The Borough Manager’s office, the Mayor’s office, Fire Department and offices for zoning and code matters are located here.

Borough Council Meeting Dates & Time
Borough Council meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of every month at 7 p.m.
on the second floor of the Stroudsburg Municipal Building located at 700 Sarah Street.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY

The Stroudsburg Borough Council is considering a revision to Chapter 15, Part 2 entitled “Motor Vehicles and Traffic, Traffic Regulations” of the Stroudsburg Borough Code of Ordinances by the addition of the following one-way streets:

15-206. One-Way Streets

  • Sarah Street, one-way from 9th Street to 10th Street, West.
  • 4th Street, one-way from McConnell Street and Main Street, East.
  • Kane Street, one-way from Main Street to McConnell Street, West.

This matter will be discussed on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the Stroudsburg Borough Municipal Building, 700 Sarah Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.  The public is encouraged to attend and to provide the Borough Council with feedback on the proposed traffic changes.


Is your Sewer Backed Up?

Contact the Borough first to ensure that the blockage is in your sewer lateral.

Residents are responsible for the lateral line from their home to the sewer main in the street.

The Borough will not reimburse for contractor fees if the Borough is not contacted first and the blockage is in the Borough’s sewer main.

Please contact the Department of Public Works at 570-421-0490 during normal business hours (Monday – Friday 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.)
