Stroudsburg is a local government located in the heart of the Pocono Mountain region of northeast Pennsylvania.
The Borough boasts a bustling downtown area with a wonderful
assortment of shops and restaurants – it is THE premiere downtown area of the Poconos.

The Borough of Stroudsburg offices are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. We are located at the corner of Seventh and Sarah Streets, diagonally across from the Monroe County Courthouse. Most departments are on the second floor of the building.
At our office you may apply for various permits such as yard sale, parade, banner, building, zoning, etc. and obtain information for most other issues regarding the Borough. The Borough Manager’s office, the Mayor’s office, Fire Department and offices for zoning and code matters are located here.

Borough Council Meeting Dates & Time
Borough Council meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of every month at 7 p.m.
on the second floor of the Stroudsburg Municipal Building located at 700 Sarah Street.

The Borough of Stroudsburg has declared a SNOW EMERGENCY as of 1:00PM. February, 7th, 2018. The Snow Emergency will remain in effect until 10 a.m. on February 9th, 2018.

 Snow Emergency Routes are marked with signs. A Snow Emergency is declared and put into effect to enable the removal of snow by Borough Public Works crews on the Snow Emergency Routes.

Do Not Park on the Snow Emergency Routes.


 Plowing Snow from Private property into a Borough Street is Illegal.

Is your Sewer Backed Up?

Contact the Borough first to ensure that the blockage is in your sewer lateral.

Residents are responsible for the lateral line from their home to the sewer main in the street.

The Borough will not reimburse for contractor fees if the Borough is not contacted first and the blockage is in the Borough’s sewer main.

Please contact the Department of Public Works at 570-421-0490 during normal business hours (Monday – Friday 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.)

The Borough of Stroudsburg is seeking volunteers on the Planning Commission (two vacancies – terms expire 12/31/2018 and 12/31/2021); the Historic Architectural Review Board (term expires 12/31/2021 and this appointee must be a P.A. licensed architect); and the Park and Recreation Commission (term expires 12/31/2022).  Individuals interested in serving should contact the Interim Borough Manager, Mary Pat Quinn, at mquinn@stroudsburgboro.com or (570) 421-5444 ext. 106.  It is suggested that interested candidates for any Board or Commission attend at least two meetings to become familiar with the procedures and responsibilities that are involved.  The purpose and process of the various boards and commissions may be reviewed in the Borough Code at www.stroudsburgboro.com.
